Training/Speaking

Want to invite Dereck Jackson to speak at your event? Get started by completing the form here. He will follow up with you by the end of the next business day.

Jesus modeled what disciple-making looks like for all who follow Him. It was intentional, relational, community-focused, and rooted in His obedient love for the Father. Jesus built missional relationships that equipped His followers to do the same. You may already be living missionally without realizing it, but many believers don’t know what missional living means.
Each interactive training below helps us reflect together on how to embrace Jesus’ missional heart and follow His pattern. These trainings aren’t simply a “sage on the stage” telling you what to do. You will partner in small and large-group discussions to discover how each of us can draw near to the Father and others in our everyday lives.

Cultivate Disciple-Making

Purpose: We aim to foster a unified, disciple-making church culture by drawing near to God’s heart. We equip participants with spiritual, personal, and practical tools for nurturing others in faith.

Unity In the Body

Jesus sought unity among His followers. How can we experience the oneness Jesus desired? Let’s explore together how we can intentionally represent a unified, diverse kingdom here on earth.

The Way of Proclamation

As the Father nurtures the believer’s heart, the Spirit of God trains us to utilize our normal life rhythms to help others meet, know, and serve Jesus.

Possible Training Structures

We can tailor trainings to your team’s needs. Review the possible structures below, and let’s discuss how we can best equip your team for disciple-making.

Personal Mission Statement: To inspire and equip people to know God.

Bio: Rev. Dr. Dereck Jackson grew up in Birmingham, AL, where he served as a youth leader for 9 years. In this capacity, he coordinated a student jobs program. He also directed a six-week summer camp in one of the city’s underserved communities. Dereck served as an Associate Trainer with Sonlife Ministries and Cadre Ministries, equipping volunteers to serve their churches and communities well.

He and his wife started a nonprofit organization, Earthen Vessels Ministries, in 2004. This ministry allowed Dereck and Becca to help pastors and their staff develop leaders. They accomplished this by fostering team-building and supporting strategic planning. During this period, Dereck completed an undergraduate degree in Biblical Studies at Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham.

After transitioning to Illinois, Dereck served as Associate Pastor to families and Youth, at Lorimer Baptist Church (New Community Church) in Dolton, IL. During this season, Dereck earned a Master of Divinity from Liberty University, focusing on Church Ministry. Dereck continued equipping the volunteers he worked with to “make disciples who make disciples.”  He also established community events to serve the neighborhood.

Trusting God, the Jackson family relocated once again, this time to Massachusetts, his wife’s home state. Dereck served as Associate Pastor, providing leadership to Small Groups, Outreach, and Children’s Ministry. Dereck formed a team that established a Twelve-Step program at Trinity Community Church in Norwood, MA. It was designed to walk with people as they develop skills to navigate personal hurts, habits, and hang-ups.

Dereck was invited to serve as a Trustee for Converge Northeast. He served for two consecutive terms. He also served on the steering committee for Impact Norwood (a drug prevention coalition). Dereck was an active member of the Parents Music Association at the local high school his children attended.

Dereck completed a Doctorate of Ministry in May of 2022. This degree focuses on Discipleship. He is now the Pastor of Earthen Vessels Community Church, which he and his wife planted in 2022. EVCC is a Micro-church with two locations in two towns in the South Shore area of Massachusetts. With a strong focus on disciple-making, Dereck draws on his 33 years of ministry experience partnering with teams and churches to cultivate disciple-making in their context.
